Started early 2003 & acquired by LookSmart last September, Furl is a free online service that allows users to save their favourite web pages. More than just a bookmarking site, Furl will store a full-text copy of any page on the web, providing 5GB of storage for each user's archive. So, even if a web page changes or is deleted, you still have a saved copy of the original page to refer to. Furl also provides options for blog integration, to search your stored web pages, share & discover new information via email subscriptions, RSS feeds & personalized recommendations...

NewsGator buys FeedDemon
NewsGator was launched in February 2003, as a news feed aggregator for Microsoft's Outlook: retrieving updates from multiple sources - blogs & news sites offering RSS - then organizing the news items within Outlook. NewsGator's Online Services were released January last year, offering further capabilities such as subscription synchronization, a web-based reader, and access to RSS content via any POP3 email client or HTML-capable mobile device. NewsGator's FREE Online Edition, launched October 2004, added even more features & functionality to the web-based aggregator with an enhanced user interface
